Welcome to Woodley Netball Club
We are based in Woodley, a surburb just east of Reading in Berkshire. We use a variety of facilities in and around Woodley namely Woodford Park Leisure Centre (off Haddon Drive), Bulmershe Leisure Centre (Woodlands Ave) and Waingels College as well as Reading Blue Coat School in Sonning and Loddon Valley Leisure Centre in Lower Earley.
Different squads train Monday - Thursday evenings during school term time and all training is held inside in a sports hall for seniors and juniors; senior sessions take place from 7.00 - 10pm and junior sessions, for girls aged 6 - 16, are held between 5.00 - 9.30pm.
Please contact the relevant club contacts for up-to-date joining information.
The netball season runs from September to June and the club fields teams playing in the South Region League, Senior teams in the Bracknell and District Netball League, & Reading District Netball League and Junior teams in the Berkshire Junior League . These matches are played Midweek, Saturdays & Sundays between September and April. We also enter teams into the friendly summer leagues, playing on Monday and Tuesday evenings respectively.
Team selections are held in June and July at training nights and using the summer leagues and pre-season in August ready for the new season. New players joining mid-season are given the opportunity to trial for teams and good club players are usually part of a squad before the end of that season. Returners to netball are encouraged to attend our Back to Netball session on a Wednesday night, or our Walking Netball Session on a Thursday morning.
For those interested in umpiring and coaching there is plenty of opportunity for training and practice; we have many club members qualified at various levels. The Club always supports any players wishing to further their own development in either umpiring or coaching and will subsidise any courses attended.
